Our brand new “INSTANT CNC” Video Series is now online on YouTube. A new video has been added to this series today. Have a look.
In this video, you will see a simulation of the exercise task 3 from Christiani’s booklet “Collection of tasks on CNC technology milling according to PAL2020” simulated with the CNC software SYMplus™.
The exercise task deals with: Pocket cycles, Groove cycles and drilling patterns (G72, G73, G74, G75 as well as G81 with G67 and G77).

INSTANT CNC – new video format on YouTube
What’s new, you ask? The answer is “INSTANT CNC” – your little bite of “CNC” ready to enjoy in no time! This is our brand new Video format, mainly meant for our YouTube Channel.
As a German company, naturally our first video is also in German language. Do not worry though, we are working on the English one already and it will soon come your way. The first video in this series is a task from the Christiani booklet “Task collection CNC technology milling according to PAL2020”. With the help of an illustrative simulation from our SYMplus™ CNC software, we explain what this task is about. Further exercises from this booklet will follow.

New edition workbooks for PAL2020.
In 2 months it will be Christmas, but before we settle down comfortably on the sofa with cookies, we still have a PAL exam coming up.
To help you prepare for the exam in the best possible way, we have updated the SYMplus™ workbooks to include the PAL2020 commands and made a few other important corrections as well. The new edition with PAL2020 is now available for purchase from us. By the way, even without an exam, the workbooks are a great learning tool to learn the CNC basics with SYMplus™.

Simulation of the IHK Final Examination Part 2, Winter 2020 (conducted in Germany) for Cutting Machine Operators in Milling.
This time it was swivelled by 90°. This is not a particular challenge for gap inspection, but in practical implementation it is important to ensure that there is no collision with the turntable or a travel distance violation. In SYMplus™ this can be tested with different machines (from DMG, SPINNER, HAAS, HERMLE, …). This time, polar programming (G11, G12, G13) was a must, and for future tests there was a preview of the changes in tangential approach and retraction. From now on, the following applies to the tests: G45 stands for tangential approach and departure on a straight line, G46 for approach and departure in a quarter circle and G47 in a semicircle. In SYMplus™ there is now a new “Mode 2020” for the PAL simulator, which is alternatively selected as the default setting in the “Setup” mode.
