Mr. Keller in his element: teaching! (Throwback 1970-80)

Our founder, Mr. Keller, in his element: teaching! (Man on the left next to the blackboard). Before founding R. & S. KELLER GmbH (today KELLER.Software) in 1986, Mr. Keller worked as a teacher and department head in the sector of metal technology. In this photo (circa 1970 to 1980), you see him during a class discussing “Systematic Action” – a fundamental principle that underpins all modern programming.

A fascinating glimpse into our past, showing how deeply our roots are anchored in education and metal technology.

        Day of German Unity 2024

On October 3rd, we celebrate the Day of German Unity  – a day that reminds us of the importance of solidarity and mutual support. These values also guide us at KELLER.Software in our mission to support and advance the CNC sector, whether in training or production. With our CNC software SYMplus, we provide the expertise for a strong and innovative future – for everyone.

Please note that the Friday after October 3rd is a “bridge day” (a day between a weekend and a statutory holiday which many employees in Germany like to take off to make their weekend last four instead of two days), and we will not be available on this day or on the public holiday.

Enjoy your time off and have a nice (long) fall weekend!

Publishing house R. Keller at the trade fair (Throwback 1982)

In 1982, Mrs. Keller published the first workbooks written by her husband, Siegfried Keller, under the publishing name ‘R. Keller’. At that time, he was still a teacher of metal technology. The workbooks covered topics such as CNC machine tools, as well as geometrical, technological, and mathematical fundamentals. Our current SYMplus™ workbooks are essentially a modern evolution of these original educational materials.

The success of these workbooks eventually led to the founding of R. & S. KELLER GmbH by Mr. and Mrs. Keller in 1986. The photo shows the publishing company’s booth at a trade fair.

On November 20, 2008, Mr. Keller, our company founder, and Dr. Gao, our Chinese partner from China Window, signed the partnership agreement. This agreement laid the foundation for a successful and long-term cooperation.

                  CNCplus machines (Throwback 1992)

At the beginning of the 1990s, KELLER developed its own control software called “CNCplus” in collaboration with NUM as hardware partner and BOEHRINGER as manufacturer (as well as several other manufacturers). This multi-year project resulted in a total of 120 “CNCplus machines”, some of which are still active at NUM.

In the photo you can see our company founder, Mr. Keller (the man in the blue overalls), at one of the “CNCplus machines”. Next to him is Professor Odo Klose (sadly deceased 4 years ago), industrial designer and professor at the University of Wuppertal.

1st HTEC + KELLER Competence Center (Throwback 2007)

In June 2007, we celebrated an important milestone along with our partner Haas Automation: the opening of the first “HTEC + KELLER Competence Center” in Grevesmühlen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern!

With this important step, KELLER laid the foundation for the opening of eight further training centers throughout Europe. In addition to the location in Germany, centers followed in Belgium, Hungary, Romania, Estonia and Belarus. Two centers were even opened in Poland and Russia. These facilities are part of the HTEC program, which focuses on transforming CNC classrooms around the world into state-of-the-art, high-tech manufacturing laboratories to provide the best CNC training.
